CERAMITEC 2012 will open with a panel discussion on
"Cost- and Energy-Efficiency". The supporting program takes a
different motto on each of the three days of the show.Again in
2012, the supporting program, held in the CERAMITEC Forum in Hall B6, will
provide a valuable platform for information-gathering, knowledge-transfer,
research and development. Attendance at all the specialist lectures and panel discussions
is free of charge. Simultaneous interpretation (German/English) is provided at
all the lectures.
Powder Metallurgy Day The German trade
association of powder metallurgy (Fachverband Pulvermetallurgie) is presenting the
“Powder Metallurgy Day” on Tuesday afternoon, May 22, 2012. The main focus of
this day will be on new and well-established technologies for the production of
powder metallurgy parts as well as on innovations and technologies for
manufacturing processes in the ceramic industry and other areas of application.
A range of talks will give given on production processes, innovative
technologies und newly developed systems in this sector.
Heavy Clay Day The Heavy Clay Day
will take place on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. The trade journal ZI – Ziegelindustrie International will
present first-rate speakers focusing on the subject of “conservation of natural
resources and energy efficiency” and the chances and opportunities this opens
up for the heavy clay industry. For the first time ever, the ECTS (European
Ceramic Technology Suppliers) working group is participating in this event in
the form of a panel discussion.
Technical Ceramics DayThe "10th
International Symposium on Ceramic Materials and Components for Energy
and
Environmental Applications" is being held from May 20 to 23, 2012 in
Dresden. On the Wednesday the delegates will transfer to Munich for
CERAMITEC,
where the conference will continue in the form of the "Technical
Ceramics
Day" on Thursday, May 24, 2012. Many of the delegates from the CMCEE
International Symposium are expected to attend this day, as speakers
and
discussion partners.

www.cmcee12.de India Day Another highlight in the supporting program is the
India Day, taking place on Friday, May 25. This is the second time an India Day
has been held at CERAMITEC. Organized by the Indian office of Germany´s
engineering federation, the VDMA, this event looks at the general situation and
conditions on the Indian market.
Guided Tours A range of guided tours is being introduced for the
first time next year for CERAMITEC 2012, to round off the excellent supporting
program to the fair. Different tours are being put together on the themes of
"Heavy Clay", "Technical Ceramics" and
"Energy-efficiency, kilns, refractory"; participants will be taken
around the fair to see the highlights on the respective themes. Two tours per
day are being planned, both in English and lasting around two-and-a-half hours.
Each tour stops at a maximum of eight stands, where exhibitors will have 15
minutes to present their highlights to the group. Companies wishing to be
involved as stations on these tours are requested to register as soon as
possible. There is no charge for trade visitors wishing to take part in the
guided tours.
ThinkIng The international
platform offered by CERAMITEC 2012 is also being used for the second time for a
"ThinkIng" initiative, at which schoolchildren and students have the
chance to meet and talk to leading companies from the sector and find out about
the working world of engineers, electrical technicians and process technicians
engaged in the industry today. The program is rounded off by further information
on study courses and job prospects. The initiator and organizer of ThinkIng is
the Ceramics Machinery Section of the VDMA.

from May 22-25, 2012.
